ok so this is my first time working with linux and so therefore i dont know how to get around everything and figure things out by myself all that well yet. Well i installed Red Hat 8 and i have no sound and when i try to open up the volume control, i get an error which says:

I was not able to open your audio device.
Please check that you have permission to open /dev/mixer and make sure that you have sound support compiled into your kernel.

Aside from that i did as it said to do and here are the outputs from the different commands i issued:

alberto]$ cat /proc/pci
