Hp Pavillion Zt 1130 Sound Problem With Redhat 9

Hi,

I have installed redhat linux 9 on my laptop HP pavillion zt 1130 (dual boot with win XP). The installation was fine except the sound card was not identified by the auto-sund card utility.

After installing alsa drivers, i found that the box hangs after login (Gnome). Meanwhile failsafe seems working fine. I have since then uninstalled all the alsa packages without any change in my position.

Could someone help with possible suggesstions? I am a newbie to linux.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Prasanna
