ok I just install suse 9.2 pro on my pc switching from winxp

I need to setup a webserver and i have not the faintest clue where to start
this seems to be a foreign languge to me any help at all would be great ful

i need apache
and any other server software needed installed

You can very well use YAST but if you can make use some of the commands given below  in the terminals , I think it will work great.

log in as root and give the command

#service httpd start
This would start your webserver.
for mysql
you have to install the package mysql
# rpm -ivh mysql
will install the package.
