Hello Everyone,

I am new to Linux so I hope that you forgive me.
Trying to configure vsftp on Fedora Core 2.

# /usr/sbin

And this is what I get:

cd /usr/sbin
root@xxx sbin]# ./vsftpd
500 OOPS: bad bool value in config file for: chroot_local_user
[root@xxx sbin]#

I already saw a posting on this issue but it does not appear to help me.

Also, once vsftpd starts running without errors, how could the outsiders
try to login to my system.

Thank you

check your vsftpd.conf

CODE
# You may specify an explicit list of local users to chroot() to their home
# directory. If chroot_local_user is YES, then this list becomes a list of
# users to NOT chroot().
#chroot_list_enable=YES
# (default follows)
#chroot_list_file=/etc/vsftpd.chroot_list

it looks like you have it without yes or no add either =yes or no at the end of chroot_list_enable
