Hi,
   I've got an Exim mail server and would like to stop people from being able to send smtp through it with the from field containing ourdomain.com unless the connection is established from the local subnet.

Does anybody know how to do this?

Thanks, but I wasn't talking about relaying, I was talking about stopping people sending email from our domain unless the originating ip address is on the local subnet.

Yes and thats what its called!!!
If you read the link I posted.
QUOTE
The standard settings for a workstation, allowing relaying through the loopback (since packages such as MH post mail this way), would be:-

relay_domains =
no_relay_domains_include_local_mx
no_relay_match_host_or_sender
host_accept_relay = 127.0.0.1/8

If you stop relaying from everyone you can't send mail at all.

So I am sure thats what you are after.

Cheers,

Caveman
