I'm trying to install Gentoo on a new compaq nx9010 laptop. However,
during the boot process, the network card is not probed correctly.
The card is a National Semiconductor DP83815/816 MacPhyter PCI Adapter.
In the directory /lib/modules/.../kernel/drivers/net, I can only find the driver

I don't know how to proceed. I see some options, but I don't know which
one is the best :
- installing a stage3 tarball, and compiling or installing the network
card driver as a last step
- downloading the sources for the network card (where to find them ?), and
compiling before using the stagex tarball (I was planning to start from
I can't find whether these nic drivers are part of the gentoo packages.

Can anyone help ? Any reaction is very much appreciated.

Problem solved !
A further inquiry on the net showed me that I had to use the natsemi
driver. Overlooked it, the first time.
