nvidia-kernel emerge fails

My 2.6.9 kernel was working with nvidia-kernel, but while emerging
a bunch of stuff it broke, and trying to re-emerge it I get:

Have you tried depmoding the modules  (depmod -a) ?

Unresolved symbols might be the consequence of not having updated module
dependency tree.

BTW, you have to depmod modules for current kernel or otherwise tell it
which version you want done (that is, if you have several kernels to
choose from)


Just guessing...
